I bought this for my daughter when she was about 5-6 years old. We have had it for 2-3 years now. It’s held up well. She and my younger son love the different sound options it comes with. They also like all the different patterns you can change out on the night light when they get tired of what is in there. We don’t keep the cover on it because they like a pretty bright light. My only complaint is that the volume of the sounds is not adjustable and it’s pretty darn loud. I was worried about it keeping them awake, or long tern hearing from playing all night. I just cut a piece of tape and put it over the speaker on the bottom to get it quieter and that has worked well long term. Just have to occasionally replace the tape. I had to read reviews online for how to work the buttons/settings. Once you get it figured out, it’s pretty simple. It’s been a great little night light. We just put it away for now since my son got a different night light. I would say it holds up well. My only other wish is that the cord was a little longer for plugging in. It holds for one night charged if all the lights are on and it’s playing sound. We usually have it plugged in, but if the kids have a sleepout in the living room, it’s great that it doesn’t have to be plugged it.

Difficult to Change the Themes
Not very easy to change out the films. I was under the impression that you changed the themes by a button or a switch. But that’s definitely not the case! Each theme that’s included, has a strip of film. Just like the old negatives that you would get whenever you had your 110 or 35mm camera film developed. You have to take the base apart, remove the themed film that’s in there, replace it with whichever theme you choose film by making it into a circle to fit into the slots, and then remove the top of the projector to put in a round disk like film that goes with that particular theme. It takes some practice to not put the film upside down, or make the circle “inside out” and to correctly put it in the projector so it will work!This entire procedure is cumbersome and time consuming. Not to mention, if you touch the film too much which you clearly have to in order to insert it, then you have fingerprints all over it which makes the projection more fuzzy than it already is.Which brings me to that particular disappointment. The projection isn’t very clear and even worse the further from the ceiling or walls you intend to project it onto. Putting mine on a normal size bedside table, the pictures it was projecting were super fuzzy and distorted. In order to get a clearer projection, I ended up stacking three books on the table and sitting the projector on the books.I’m an adult mother whose put more than my fair share of toys, model cars, Legos, and other items together and this was not one of the easiest ones I have done. I can’t imagine an elementary aged child trying to change out the films!So, would I recommend this? No. Make sure you understand how you are going to change themes out before you purchase any type of projector like this. Unless you enjoy tedious work
