Thermos
I absolutely loved this food thermos. The size is perfect for carrying lunch or snacks, and it keeps food hot for quite a long time. Plus, the dinosaur design is super cute and eye-catching—ideal for kids, or even just for bringing along something a little different. The lid seals very tightly, so nothing spills—which is incredibly important when you’re carrying it in a backpack or lunchbox. The material feels sturdy and of high quality. It is definitely an excellent purchase, and I recommend it wholeheartedly. Very practical and cute!

Perfect small little bowl serving
I picked this up because I wanted something small but reliable for hot meals, and it has honestly been a great little find. The size is perfect for soups, pasta, oatmeal, or leftovers without being bulky. I also really like the wide opening — it makes it easy to fill, eat from, and clean (which is a big deal for me). The lid seals well and feels sturdy, so I don’t worry about it leaking in my bag.It keeps food warm for hours, which makes it great for long days, road trips, or even packing lunch when you don’t have access to a microwave. The stainless interior feels solid and the outside color is really pretty too.Simple, practical, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I can definitely see myself using this a lot.

Experiment: How warm does the 19 oz Pawtong food jar really keep food?
I bought two of the 19 oz Pawtong thermal insulated food containers, and they came in the mail yesterday. Several reviews said the container wouldn’t stay hot, and one review claimed it melted m&m’s that he had placed next to it. So I did a simple experiment to test both of those questions.Note: Although the container is labeled as being 19 oz, the actual capacity seems to be 16.4 oz. I determined this by using a gram scale and pouring as much water as I could fit into the container without having it spill over when the lid was placed on. (There is no fill line, so this took a little trial and error.) The amount was 485 mL = 16.4 ounces. Possibly all food jars advertise a larger capacity than they can actually hold; I don’t know. But the real capacity is 16.4 oz for the 19 oz Pawtong jar. This is not a big deal for me personally, since I’m using these to replace a model of food jar that has a (true) capacity of 11 oz. (Later, after the experiment, I overfilled the jar with cold water and then forcibly spilled all the excess out with the lid and re-weighed it. The total that time came to 532 mL, which is almost 18 ounces. My experiment was done with 485 mL of fluid, because that was what felt safe to pour in without risking burning myself. All that said, the real working capacity seems to be between 16.4 and 17.9 ounces for the 19 oz food jar.Question #1: Does the food jar fail to keep food warm?To find out, I boiled water in a teapot and poured 485 mL of boiling water (199° Fahrenheit) into each of three containers, as measured by a digital gram scale. One was a plain old uninsulated metal salad bowl, used as a control. One was the 19 oz Pawtong. One was an identical 19 oz Pawtong, but placed in a zippered thermal lunch bag, because that’s how I intend to travel with these if I end up keeping them. I left all three containers out on the wooden kitchen countertop. After two hours, I came back and checked them. The lids of the Pawtongs were warm, both on the top and around the rim. Not warm enough to cause any discomfort, just noticeably warm, which indicates heat was escaping from that location. (This made sense, because upon unboxing the product I never saw any insulating material when I disassembled the lid.) The walls of the jars were cool to the touch, indicating they were doing a good job of trapping the heat inside. I measured the temperatures of the water then, and at two-hour intervals thereafter.===Boiling water temps after 0 hours (start)===199.0° F – plain old salad bowl199.0° F – Pawtong 19 oz food jar left out on the countertop199.0° F – Pawtong 19 oz food jar placed in the thermal lunch bag===Boiling water temps after 2 hours===70.5° F – plain old salad bowl163.9° F – Pawtong 19 oz food jar left out on the countertop165.9° F – Pawtong 19 oz food jar placed in the thermal lunch bag===Boiling water temps after 4 hours===63.3° F – plain old salad bowl141.6° F – Pawtong 19 oz food jar left out on the countertop146.2° F – Pawtong 19 oz food jar placed in the thermal lunch bag===Boiling water temps after 6 hours===62.2° F – plain old salad bowl124.5° F – Pawtong 19 oz food jar left out on the countertop130.6° F – Pawtong 19 oz food jar placed in the thermal lunch bagSoup is denser than water, so the temperatures would likely be higher if I’d tested with actual soup.So the container does fine by itself, and the thermal lunch bag only helps the it retain about one degree Fahrenheit of heat per hour. It’s very likely that the temperature retention would be improved if an insulating thing (e.g. a pot holder, a napkin, etc.) were placed on top of the lid, but it doesn’t really seem to need that.Question #2: Does the food jar melt m&m’s?I actually had no m&m’s on hand, but I did have some Reese’s Pieces. I placed a ziplock baggie of 10 Reese’s Pieces directly on top of the lid of the food jar that was filled with 199° F water and left out on the counter. When I came back an hour later, at least 3 candies were melted. So yes, the m&m’s story is likely true, and you should not put easily-meltable things right on top of the food jar when it’s full of hot food. For me, this product keeps the food warm enough for my purposes (car trips), and has the added benefit of the lid design. What the lid lacks in insulation, it makes up for in being able to easily remove when you’re ready to eat, and to easily take all the way apart to clean. The clear plate that touches the food comes all the way off, and you can rinse/scrub the lid under there. No fears about mold, which happened over time with the old Reduce model of soup thermos I had due to the lid design. The Pawtong lid is a little complicated to reassemble, but so was the Instant Pot lid when I first started using it. You just memorize the steps.Durability is not something I can comment on because I just got these yesterday, but that wasn’t one of the complaints from the other reviews, so I doubt it will be a problem. It keeps food warm and has a way better lid than my old soup thermos, so it’s a winner in my book.

Nice seal, keeps food warm
Good quality item, keeps food warm. Easy to open and close, it does not spill. Easy to wash, good value.

Great idea but Go with a different brand
Bought this to keep ramen hot for my son. It keeps it warm at best. We hand wash it every time. It gets increasingly harder to put back together and it is showing rust(?) spots in the bottom. Wish I could return but it’s out of the return window. I do like the easy open close though.

Easy To Open!
My Grandson absolutely LOVES this food thermos. The buckle-style lid is SUPER easy to open, even for little hands, which makes it great for my 3 year old grandson! It seals tightly, so I don’t have to worry about leaks in lunch box. The insulation works well too—food stays warm for hours, and his cold foods stay chilled. The wide mouth makes it easy to fill and clean, and the 12oz size is perfect for soups, pasta, or snacks. It’s a sturdy, practical container that works great for school or on the go!
