It gave me more flexibility than a unit without a long hose. When you’re sick, flexibility is important.3. Because of the long hose, all you need to do is hold the receptacle up to your nose. The receptacle is very light so you’re not holding something “heavier” up to your face.4. The receptacle that gathers your mucus is easy to detach and wash. Just detach it from the hose, open it up and rinse. I also cleaned mine with rubbing alcohol for sanitation purposes.5. I’ve had this item for over 2 years and it still works.6. It has a light so you can use it in the dark.Tips for usage:1. To really get the deeply embedded stuff, you need to really get this thing up your nose.2. Don’t just put it in your nostril and leave it there. Move it around to get everything.3. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT put this thing in one nostril while holding the other nostril closed. I did it once and will never do THAT again and my eardrums love me for my perspicacity.Some cons with using units like this:1. As mentioned, to get the “deep mucus” you really need to get this thing up your nose and move it around. I have visions of myself ending up with huge nostrils.2. It’s kind of gross to see what comes out but then again, maybe you’re one of those people who like to see what’s come out.3. This thing is kind of addictive. I felt myself reaching for this at the slightest sign of congestion.4. This is not a silent machine. It isn’t really noisy but it’s not silent either. It has a music function that plays music which may be soothing to babies but I’ve never used it.Some cons of this particular unit:1. Because you can take it apart to clean it, I misplaced one of the parts which was needed for use. But this is a user error not necessarily a problem with the unit itself. I actually liked the fact I can take it apart to clean it.Caution: As with any equipment, use responsibly. Discontinue use if it hurts or you think it might be damaging to you. This review is intended for use of the unit on adults not on babies. Babies require special care and gentle handling.

A must buy for babies and toddlers.
This is one of the best things we bought for our kids. Works really well, and feels far less gross than using the manual suckers. Using this with saline nasal spray helps congestion so much, and seems to make colds last a few days less.

First off, this product was delivered to my door in 2hrs 7mins from the time I ordered it. I’m sure it’s only because there is a major hub in my area, but still… items aren’t usually delivered that quickly even here.Secondly, and more importantly, this nasal aspirator is the bomb. I bought a different electric brand a few years back, and it performed like junk. It turned me off to the electric aspirators until this morning when my kid had THICK snot and I was tired of unsuccessfully getting all of it out with the “it” brand one you have to use your own manpower for. I did my little Amazon search and saw the one that disappointed me in the past was still at the top of the list. I was shocked and nervous because, to me, that meant everything would perform even less than that particular disappointment. Anyway, I came across this one. The appearance resembles hospital grade aspirators and found the reviews to be mostly positive, plus it could be delivered to my front door within 2-4 hrs of ordering AND was on sale. I pulled the trigger.It has different silicone tips to best suit your needs and many different suction settings in case you’re nervous. It also came with a charged battery, so I could use it immediately (which I did). This thing works like a charm. It’s very easy to use, clean, AND I don’t have to worry about what germs I’m sucking straight into my mouth.Just buy this. Don’t waste your money on something cheaper that might not work. I promise this one DOES work.

Works great for kids and adults
My toddler hates the machine but we love it. It has a strong suction and can get even the most stubborn boogers. I like the built in light so when its night time we dont have to turn all the lights off, and the music feature does sometimes distract my toddler. I’ve used this on myself as well when im sick and its great. We put the parts, minus the hose, in the top of our dishwasher to clean it before storing it away.
