  1. THAT Mom

nothing hurts worse than painful nips
You know those “top 10” lists of “all the items you’re going to NEED” when the baby comes? Well, this should be at the top of every one of them! Whether you’re going to be breastfeeding or pumping, nothing hurts worse than painful nips! I swear, I’d rather go through the pain of childbirth again and again rather than feel the agony of another cracked nipple. Hooray then for Medela Tender Care Lanolin! Other brands require that you warm up the product between your fingers before applying. Who’s got the time for that after a feeding in the middle of the night when you just want to get back in bed? This stuff glides on cool and smooth, for immediate relief, and is just jelly-like enough to stay put and do it’s healing work until your next feed/pump. The relief at that next latch is amazing. A few applications later, you’re all healed and back in business.I love that this stuff is hypoallergenic, all natural, so it’s safe for me, and you don’t have to wipe it off before baby nurses. It has no foul taste or smell. I tried another brand of lanolin (in a little blue jar) that was more expensive, but my baby clearly didn’t like the taste of it. When she would slip up or bite me because of the yucky taste, she would yank off quickly which would just damage the nip again. No good! It would also melt quite a bit once applied, and sometimes left oily spots when it leaked onto my bra/shirt. The Medela brand is less messy, and the flip-cap is easier to handle with one hand (unlike the jar which requires both hands to unscrew the lid first). And, ounce-for-ounce you’ll be hard pressed to find a better price than this one. I went through that other little jar in about four weeks; the Medela lanolin tube has a precise applicator tip, so there’s less waste. 2 months later, I’m not even halfway through the tube.Whether you’re expecting, already established breastfeeding, pumping, or searching for the perfect item to include in that baby shower gift basket, this is one of those “top 10 items” every mom should have!

If you are having issues with nipple cracking, this is for you.
The long and the short of it is, this product is absolutely liquid gold. My nipples were in the worst state they could have possibly been in, and in just about a week were almost back to normal. It has a mild soothing almost numbing quality to it (though not very strong), and protects tender skin from the air as well as from friction. It DOES stain clothes – so be aware of that. It also has a bit of a smell – kind of medicinal, kind of like an old wool sweater (lol). But honestly? This stuff could smell 100x worse and stain everything known to man and I would still use it because it is the only thing that made my poor, destroyed nipples feel any better. It also doesn’t have to be removed from your skin to pump or nurse (unless it is excessively gooped on), though I do recommend wiping the inside of your pump flange if you use one because my dishwasher struggles to remove it.If you want a detailed account, keep reading:My partner and I just had a baby on 12/29/2020. I have been pumping since 12/30/2020 and let me tell you, it has been an awful ride for me. First, the pump that the hospital gave me had flanges that were way too small, which resulted in me getting blisters on my nipples and nipple blanching – AKA the skin was basically dying at the end of my nips. Then, my lactation consultant mis-sized my nips (which were swollen and extremely tender), and I ended up with flanges a size too large, which then pulled my areola into the pump, and caused the skin there to crack and swell as well. Needless to say, by the time I ordered this cream, my nipples looked like someone had run them through a cheese grater. I mean, they were awful. I couldn’t touch them without actually literally yelping in pain, and nearly crying. It was, no joke, more painful than having a baby (for me – admittedly my whole experience was a lot easier than some people, but still). They bled. They wept constantly from being openly wounded. When I pumped, it hurt so badly I actually barfed a few times. This was recommended to me by a friend of mine who had a similar experience a few years back with her nips after breastfeeding. I was super skeptical – I mean, how was a balm going to soothe what could only be described as my road-rash level raw nips??? But I was willing to try just about anything, and I AM SO GLAD I DID.It comes in a decent size tube, and you do not need much so it will last you a while. At first, I was actually using it in two ways:1.) I was absolutely smothering my nipples and areolas with it (looking back, I likely didn’t need to use so much, but the stuff is cheap and I didn’t care because it was soothing and a little bit numbing and I was going to cash in on that effect every second I could).2.) I was using re-usable breastmilk pads with a large dollop placed over where my nipple was inside my bra to keep the area very well moistened and to reduce rubbing on the inside of my bra as well as keep the stuff from staining my bra. After about a week – 6 days, really – my nipples had gone from cracked and bleeding and unfathomably painful to nearly normal (keep in mind I did also get proper flanges for my breast pump in this time and that allowed my nipples to heal). I am still using it daily after pumping, now, and it keeps my skin feeling normal and soft! I cannot recommend this product enough. If you are debating it, just do it. Seriously. This was such a quality of life upgrade and I know I am sounding a bit like an infomercial but, honestly, there is absolutely no reason not to try this if you are already hurting and suffering. I even use it on my dry skin on my face from wind chapping. The moment I start running low I’m going to be grabbing more, and if I have any friends who are pregnant, I’m including it in baby shower gifts.

    The Best Nipple Cream
I struggled with chapped, chaffed, cracked, painful nipples for the first couple of weeks of breast feeding and this has been the only nipple cream to adequately treat said issues. I would apply it after every single feed and within a couple of days my nipples looked and felt so much better. It is smooth, golden colored cream that gently glides over sore nipples and soaks into skin over time. I am a nurse and this cream reminds me very much of a honey containing cream used to treat wounds in hospitals. After I delivered I was given samples of other creams to try and this is the only one that did not cause stinging, pain, and actually helped add moisture. Other creams that were thicker and sticky seemed to burn and tug at the nipple when applying. I also had to use a ton of the other creams where as with the medela a dot the size of a pea is more than enough. Now that my baby and I have mostly corrected his latch, I only use this when my nipples are feeling a little sore after nursing or before I pump. The cream does an awesome job of acting like a lubricant when pumping to help decrease chaffing.

Highly recommended – as described and fast delivery

  6. Karla

Es muy buena para los pezones lastimados, quita el dolor y los humecta. Mi bebé de pronto hace caras al agarrar el pezón con lanolina, pero sé que no le hace daño y no tengo que estarme limpiando.

  7. Ara

I highly recommended for those who are first-time moms, who decide to do breastfeeding or those who do breast pump. You must have this product. It is a lifesaver!
