This is the second unit of this air fryer I have purchased, the first of which was December 2024. Lasted 14 months before crapping out, but enjoyed every month that it did work, enough so that I bought another one. Because of the Code E2, showed up in the window just prior to shutting down, after reading the owners manual in detail, I am assuming the thermostat burned out, because during the very last usage of the first unit, the heating element did not go off and got so hot, that it began smoking out the top vent, just prior to the code being displayed and ultimately shutting down. Excellent when working however, just hope this one last longer than 14 months.

Slower Cook Times and a Strange Smell: My Experience with the Chefman Air Fryer
After my old Ninja Dual Zone Air Fryer broke down, I bought this one as a replacement. It looks very similar to my old one, but it has some key differences.My old Ninja had fan speed control, and this one doesn’t. This air fryer’s fan speed is what I would call “low,” similar to the “bake” setting on my old Ninja. In certain cases, this can be considered a plus, as I can now cook things like cheesy garlic bread or melt a slice of cheese on top of a burger at the end of its cycle without it getting blown all over the place. It can even “toast” a slice of bread without it getting blown all over the basket, which was impossible in my old Ninja even on the lowest setting. The food I’ve made so far also seems to come out a bit crispier, and the baskets are less sticky. The low fan speed also makes it quieter.However, the low fan speed has a downside: everything takes much longer to cook. I’ve found that it takes 1.5 to 2 times longer to cook food than in my old Ninja. A large breaded chicken breast took over three times longer than the package instructions suggested.This one does stop the blower when you pull out the basket. I’m not sure if that’s good or not, but if you pull out the basket to shake the food, it stops the fan. I’m not sure if it also stops the heat. Either way, the Ninja definitely kept blowing and heating regardless of whether or not the basket was inserted.The baskets in this new fryer are smaller, which means less counter space is taken up. I can finally put my knife block back where it used to be, which is a big win for me.This has the same “basket sync” and “both-baskets-are-the-same” features that the Ninja had, which is mostly useful if you have 2 things that take different amounts of time. You can start them both at the same time, and the fryer will delay start the second basket until the time is correct for them to both finish at the same time.My biggest complaint is the smell. When I first ran it, a really unpleasant odor came from the machine. I had to wash the baskets and run it empty several times to get rid of the smell. The smell was so bad that I almost sent this one back. My Ninja had no smell at all, from day 1.Overall, I’m relatively happy with it. It has some great features, like smaller footprint and the fact that I think it might be able to double as a toaster, even though the longer cooking time is an adjustment and I haven’t yet had the opportunity to try some other foods that I have cooked in my old air fryer. I really hope that whatever made that smell isn’t toxic, or going to somehow cause me an issue in 20 years leaving me regretting saving the extra money on this one. Whatever that smell is, this company really needs to address it.

ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE!
I’ve had my airfryer for almost a year now and it has been one of my most favourite adult purchases ever! It’s easy to clean, quiet, and comes with a range of control buttons which makes it easy to use. What I like most about it though is the sheer size of the double baskets. Most air fryers of that size are typically single baskets which limits the number of dishes possible at once. Features like Hi Fry (extra high temp) and sync basket makes it so much more versatile and suitable for daily life. I have made fried chicken with minimal oil (it is recommended to spray a tad of oil on dishes that are usually deep fried), along with french fries, even waffles and they taste the same, if not better! I highly recommend this.

The product failed very quickly, with no option to buy parts or get a replacement unit. at all today
I purchased this air fryer on August 14, 2025. At first, I was very happy with it — everything worked perfectly and I really liked the product.I used it strictly according to the instructions and took proper care of it. However, after about 3 months, the mesh/rack started to bubble and deteriorate. At the time, I thought this might be normal wear and tear, so I didn’t leave a review. I even bought silicone liners to continue using it, since the company unfortunately does not offer replacement parts for these components.I continued using the air fryer, but after about a year (a little more), the situation got much worse — now the inner basket coating has started to bubble and peel. In this condition, it is no longer safe or hygienic to use the appliance for cooking.The air fryer itself still works, but the key components that come into contact with food — and cannot be replaced — have become unusable in a very short period of time. It’s frustrating to throw away a working appliance, but it’s also impossible to safely use it.I am very disappointed with the quality and the fact that the company does not provide replacement parts or proper customer support. Unfortunately, I missed the return window because everything worked fine at first, and the issues appeared later. It was also very difficult to find a way to contact the company directly.As a result, a product that could have lasted for years became unusable in just about a year.❗️I truly hope a company representative sees this review and reaches out to resolve this issue. I would really appreciate a replacement of the unit or its main components, as I believe this lifespan is unacceptable for this type of appliance.At this point, unfortunately, I cannot recommend this product.

I really love this item. I love the dual baskets. It gave me and my granddaughter a chance to compete whit who can make the best wings. I really like that it has the sync, so that the food finish cooking at the same time. The price was reasonable A very good purchase.
